Hello everyone. I have noticed in an increase of "spam" on our forums and it is becoming difficult for people to find what they are looking for. While it is great people are being active on the forums, our forums are losing its focus as a gaming community. Let me also say that this not a post directed at any one individual or a few individuals, it’s about our community. We are here, to be together, discuss our favorite hobbies, interact, and plan & participate in community events.

I just want to remind everyone what we're here for. Gaming.

I feel there are 3 types of "spam"

1. Spam bots - automated programs that advertise on forums (we've completely eliminated their ability to post on our forums, although dozens still sign up everyday)

2. Multiple Threads of no significance - having one thread for your topic is fine, just put all your posts in that one topic, don't create a new one if can fit in an existing topic. For example, one of our overlords has the Cayote/Spamalot thread. She has this in addition to her profile and she posts what she wants. If you want another Spamalot thread of your own in addition to your profile, do it! I encourage that. It will cut down on the amount of threads people have to wade. Plus, it’s YOUR very own thread dedicated to whatever you want.

3. Multiple posts in many forums with the same message - (only exception is in the Profiles, ex. "Happy _______ Day!")

I think we can be more sensible in our posting around here so we can make it less cluttered. If you have something you want to post regarding only one person, please post in in their profiles. Do not create a whole new thread just for that one post.

I want to emphasize the gaming and community aspect of our forums. We have tournaments we are participating in, events we are planning, topics we want to discuss, Halo videos/gametypes/screenshots we want to share, so please, lets refocus ourselves. Thanks.

I firmly and wholeheartedly agree with what Zoom says. I don't think that anyone is taking away any person's indvidual spamarama good times (waffles and bacon abound) But, if you look at the example, from our Overlord Cayote, she created her Spamalot thread a long time ago - and it has some of the most posts on the forum. You can post whatever you want in there. Lead by example right. . . <3

So I think that this is about compartmentalizing not fun sucking. :P

I know I like to spam at times-so I thought having one thread would be good for "nonsense" type stuff.
